Introduction Have an educated guess as to what the best thing would be that will complement your gaming mouse perfectly? Well, the answer is no other than your inconspicuous mouse mat. Mouse mats are probably the most ignored pieces of equipment (or should I say accessory) in the entire I.T. industry. It's not the kind thing that's on everyone's shopping list, and if it is ... 99% of users will probably spend less than a fraction of a second to choose a mouse mat. This however, is definitely not the case if you're gamer. To a gamer, a mouse mat is an essential accessory that's just as important as their much loved gaming mice. During intense gaming sessions, gamers will require a mouse mat that can provide an unrestrictive and smooth playing surface. Today, we take a look at the QPad HeatoN gaming mouse pad. It's made using a 3 layer construction method and meaures 43.5 x 36.5 cm, with a total weight of 550g. The bottom layer is made from a high quality cross weave natural rubber base for extra grip. There is a second layer that is made from ABS plastic and gives the mouse pad extra stability and weight. And finally, the surface layer is made from a durable Carbytek™ plastic and gives gamers the smooth playing surface that they need for micro precision gaming.
I never would have thought, that a gaming mouse pad can be so advanced in terms of construction, build quality and features. This is no ordinary mouse pad , it's a gaming mouse pad that's designed specifically for the most extreme of gamers ... professional gamers who wants a smooth playing surface that will compliment nicely with their gaming mouse. Let's take a closer look and see what the QPad HeatoN gaming mouse pad has to offer ...
Product Overview The QPAD HeatoN is constructed in a 3 layer construction. Starting with a high quality cross weave natural rubber base to make it stay firm on the table. The second layer is an ABS plastic sheet to give it stability and weight. The third surface layer is made from a durable Carbytek™ plastic that offers a unimagined feeling of speed in combination with smooth micro precision control. The combination of a spongy 2mm natural rubber base with an 1mm ABS board in between and the Carbytek™ hard top surface gives it a feeling unique for the QPAD HeatoN series. The weight of 550 gram makes it stay firmly on the table.QPAD HeatoN Medium has a size of 36.5 x 28 cm compared with the first version that was 43.5 x 36.5 cm. The new size is adjusted to fit every gamers table.
"With the best glide ever on a hard top gaming pad together with the durability so the glide won't change every week. I would have to say that we have developed the perfect plastic pad that will never interfere with your game and make sure you are always on the top of your game." - Says Emil "HeatoN" Christensen. Verdict and Conclusion What I found with the QPad HeatoN, is that it's a fairly large mouse pad ... measuring 43.5 x 36.5 cm and weighs in at 550g. It's a hard mouse pad, so it's not something you can lug around with you at ease. Personally, I perfer a soft mouse pad that you can roll up. Having said that, it is one of only a few mouse pads that offers such a smooth playing surface. The build quality of the mouse pad is excellent, with high quality materials being used in its 3 layer construction. It complements perfectly with the QPad 5K laser gaming mouse which we reviewed a few months ago. The large surface area is more than plenty to freely move the mouse around. And there is one thing I can honestly say, you can really feel the smoothness when you move the mouse on the QPad HeatoN. The mouse just glides as if it was on air! I guess the Carbytek™ plastic top layer is really working its magic. And as an added bonus, QPad have included a set of 4 glides for your mouse (that's if you want to take full advantage of the superb smooth playing surface.
Just to let you know, QPad are not the only producers of gaming mouse pads. There are a whole host of manufacturers including big names such as Steelseries, Razer and Logitech. It will take some time before QPad gets widely accepted in the gaming scene ... but I'm sure this will happen over time. Final words. After some research, I couldn't find an official outlet where you can buy the QPad HeatoN gaming mouse pad. However, at the QPad website, they're selling them directly ... costing around 45 Euros or USD $60.00, which I think is fairly pricey for a mouse pad. Is it worth it? Well, I can say it's not really for me (too pricey, plus I'm not a professional gamer), but for the hardcore extreme gaming enthusiast and possibly some professional gamers ... why not go and check it out.
