Introduction
Hi Folks! A surprise box from Thermaltake showed up today, inside was (among other things) BlacX 5G HDD Dock! This intrigued me as I have quite a few USB3 motherboards but no USB3 devices at all. Now I have one to review! This made me happy.

Anyway, a little bit about Thermaltake:
Thermaltake has been around for a while, as the name suggests they started off in heatsinks, over the years they've made some damn good heatsinks too. My personal favorite was the Big Typhoon, not only was it good then, but it's still good, mine kept my 4+ghz 980x nice and cool.
More recently they have branched out into other fields, cases, fans, power supplies, accessories, all kinds of stuff! Milestones

In this review, we'll be taking a look at the Thermaltake BlacX 5G USB3 HDD Dock. As the name suggests, it's a HDD docking station that supports full USB 3.0 standards "super speed" with a maximum theoretical throughput of 4.8Gbps (but we all know it's much less than that). Let's see how well the Thermaltake BlacX 5G can really perform.
We'll be testing it on our test rig, which is comprised of the following components .... Gigabyte Z68X-UD3-B3, Intel Core i7 2600K (LGA1155) at 4.1ghz, G.Skill Ripjaws X 2133MHz 2x2gb kit, Sapphire Radeon HD 5830, Samsung Spinpoint F1 750GB SATA for testing ... all powered by a beefy Silverstone Strider 1000w.
Onward to the BlacX 5G!
