First Impressions
Closer Look And this mouse is what I was wanting from Steelseries with previous mice I have reviewed. The slick and shiny surface is gone and has been replaced with a matte surface which is very nice. It does not get as dirty as the other mice which is a big plus in my book. Gripping the mouse it fits comfortably in my hand. It is between the Kinzu v2 and the Sensei in size. For my hand it is a perfect fit and what I have been looking for all along. When it comes to looks, the Kana is great looking. The orange features pop nicely compared to the black on the mouse. While it does give a bit of a holloween look, it is very nice looking. Like other Steelseries mice the cable on it is braided, but it also brings orange stripes which look great in my opinion.
Whoever thought of using large side buttons, I absolutely love them compared to the small side buttons on other mice. It is very easy to knife someone playing BF3, or hitting the back button on the browser. No longer will I hit forward instead of back.
Testing Gaming with the Kana was great. Despite it not being a laser mouse it tracks great. I have to say that I prefer optical over laser mice. When it comes to tracking it did great on a cloth mouse pad. Testing it on my reflective glass desk it did horrible. So just make sure that you use a mouse pad if you have a glass desk. This mouse felt the best to me while playing Battlefield 3, my accuracy actually improved which is always something you want when using a new mouse.
