Hi guys ... here's a review on HIS's solar-powered LED torch.

"Now, is this something that HIS really wants to get involved in? Well, it's definitely not what I would expect from a manufacturer that specialise in PC graphic cards. However, HIS has oddly decided to produce a LED flash torch that's powered by solar energy. Yes, no batteries needed ... it's very green you might say, but how does it perform? and does it really last upto 5 hours from a single daytime/daylight charge."

Mmm, it's a shame that didn't work too well. I've been wondering about solar powered sunglasses! They might work. Or on the other hand the idea and product might be a flop like my giant Bonsai trees.  Sad Wink

It's OK as a gift I guess ... but I think it's more of a gimmick / promotional freebie

It doesn't say what type of battery it uses. Some batteries need to be conditioned (charged and dis-charged) a few times before they are up to spec, so to speak.

Did you just charge it the once?

Apparently according to the Tesco phone shop in Leicester, the new iPhone 4 has a solar panel built into the back panel!! That bloke doesnt work there anymore!! LOL... although to be fair, apple have patented the idea so who knows - watch this space for the iphone 5??
