It seems to me that the website has slowed back down quite a bit

I've also enable Apache compression so it compresses the content for delivery.

Homepage is typically 115Kbytes, with compression it becomes 23Kbytes, thats 5x smaller and hence should in theory be 5x faster. Evil

Let me know if the site is faster.
