Karazhan is an abandoned ancient tower located in Deadwind Pass. Karazhan is notable for its famous occupant, the last Guardian of Tirisfal, Medivh. Karazhan recently was an important location in the Warcraft movie, and received an in-game spotlight in the pre expansion quests that unlocked yesterday. As players progress throughout Karazhan, the instance turns from a luxury castle to a sinister demon-infested building.
Karazhan, along with Gruul’s Lair, was the first tier of raiding in the Burning Crusade. Karazhan was a 10-player raid that had several elaborate attunement systems both to access the raid as well as to summon the boss Nightbane. Defeating Nightbane was required for to complete , which was needed to unlock Serpentshrine Cavern.
Notable Karazhan bosses include Moroes, Prince Malchezaar, and Shade of Aran.
