"Spring Design's motion for an injunction on sales of the Nook ebook reader was rejected yesterday by a Californian court which means Barnes & Noble is free to sell and distribute its device, at least for the time being. Spring Design tried to halt Nook sales due to its belief that Barnes & Noble had copied features from the 'Alex' ebook prototype which the two discussed about since the beginning of 2009. US District Judge James Ware motivated his decision by the fact that Spring Design didn't provide enough evidence to sustain its claims that Barnes & Noble did 'inspire' itself from Alex when building Nook. This doesn't change much between the two companies which are still engaged in a lawsuit through which B&N is accused of misappropriating trade secrets and violating a non-disclosure agreement." ![]() Source; TechConnect |
