Looks like Intel have won some friends with their dual-core Atom processors. Samsung are willing to use these chips on their up-and-coming Galaxy Tab 3 10.1-inch tablet.
"Intel Corp. (INTC) may have scored a key win in the tablet market. According to reports by Venture Beat, Reuters, and other sources Samsung Electronics Comp., Ltd. (KSC:005930) has selected an Atom system-on-a-chip to power its next generation flagship Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab 3. Given that Samsung is currently in second place in tablet sales (with a little over a sixth of the total market), this could be huge to Intel establishing a beachhead in a market space that's currently dominated by the partners of Intel's mobile arch-rival ARM Holdings Plc (LON:ARM).

Samsung's tablet line has historically had a mix of various ARM processors. Its first Galaxy Tab packed an in-house Exynos 3000 series chip. Its follow-up larger Android tablet designs packed Tegra 2 chips from NVIDIA Corp. (NVDA). The Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0 packed an Exynos 4000 series chip. And the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0/10.1 packed OMAP4000 series from Texas Instruments, Inc. (TXN) (TI recently exited the smartphone/tablet market)."

I guess there's going to be too much red tape and hurdles for getting facial recognition approved for Google Glass. I know I wouldn't want to be recognised by some random person wearing Glass that just so happen to be noisy!

"While the public decides how to deal with Google Glass-wearing cyborgs walking among us, there are already startups trying to add facial recognition to the device. That includes the MedRef for Glass app for Doctors and an API created by Lambda Labs that's on the way. Unfortunately, apparently due to privacy concerns, a post tonight by the Project Glass team says that it will not approve any app using the tech for release -- at least until it has some privacy protections in place. That's the same standard it previously said would need to be met before it added facial recognition to its own services.

It's not so sci-fi if you think about it ... there are biotech companies already implementing this type of technology for years. I guess Motorola has found a way to market it to the masses.
"Always forgetting your password? Tech company Motorola is working on some rather unusual solutions! They've unveiled an electronic 'tattoo' that sticks to your skin. It has a circuit so gadgets can identify you.

Another experimental idea is a password pill you swallow - that transmits a signal to devices outside the body. The pill doesn't need batteries because it's powered by stomach acid - but Motorola bosses say it won't be on sale any time soon. So you'll have to keep remembering those passwords for now!"
