Introduction

When it comes to professional gaming, every PC gamer knows how important it is to have the right keyboard or mouse to do the job. A slow responding keyboard or mouse could impede the chance of you getting into a final of a sponsored match, which could be worth thousands of Dollars or Euros. Yes, it is that serious. Professional gaming is worth millions each year, attracting big sponsors like Intel, AMD and Samsung (WCG - World Cyber Games). What's more, sponsored teams such as Fnatic can win thousands every year in prize money.

With such a serious "sport" ... professional gaming accessories are most definitely required. And this is where Steelseries come in. They are among the most recognised brand names for gaming accessories in the world. Specialising in professional gaming mice, keyboards, mouse mats and headsets, Steelseries have dominated this market thanks to their collaboration with Team Fnatic ... the world's top Counter Strike team, who's won over 40+ International Grand Slam Events.

For those who are not too familiar with Steelseries ... here's some information taken from their website.

"Benefits to gamers of all skill-level, with the most demanding being those gamers whose lively hood depends on the performance of our products. We believe, as most gamers do, in winning, not trying!

What originally began as a small two-person operation in Copenhagen back in 2001 has become a global leader in professional gaming products. SteelSeries recognized the need for superior, high-quality professional gaming gear that would give players a competitive edge.

Fast-forward to today, and we've come a long way since our first glass mousepad. We have global offices in North America, Europe, and Asia, providing an integrated portfolio of products designed specifically for gaming. Fueling our growth is you, the gamer! "

With this endorsement, you can be sure that the their gaming accessories can be pretty awesome. At the end of the day, it's used by professionals who compete in international grand slam events, where big prize money is at stake.

In this review, we'll be taking a look at the Xai Laser Mouse from Steelseries. It's designed for the professional gamer who requires a range of programmable profiles that they can select quickly and easily.

It comes with a gold-plated USB connector, as well as a 2m cord that's braided to improve durability. The Xai laser mouse has a back-lit LCD menu system on the underside of the mouse, and can store upto 5 profiles with advanced macro capabilities. Furthermore, the Steelseries Xai is described as one of the most advance laser mouse that can process 12,000 frames per second at movement speeds of 150+ inches per second. This level of performance results in a complete and reliable tracking, even during the most frantic and fast-paced games.
