Facebook’s popular messaging app WhatsApp now has over 1 billion daily active users, the company announced this week. That milestone was reached pretty fast, as the company just announced 1 billion monthly users in 2016. It also shared some other stats to show how large the platform is.
There are 55 billion messages sent per day, 4.5 billion photos, and 1 billion videos. In terms of monthly active users, WhatsApp sits around 1.3 billion.
A couple months ago, Facebook’s Messenger app had about the same number of monthly users.
