Intel Plans To Have 100 Autonomous Vehicle Fleet This Year

Intel’s fleet of autonomous test vehicles will grow to upwards of 100 cars this year. Just as it has completed its acquisition of Mobileye, an autonomous vehicle tech company, Intel has revealed its intention to create more than 100 entirely self-driving cars (SAE Level 4).

A platform utilizing tech from Intel and Mobileye is being created for other companies to use. As such, the fleet will be made of different vehicles from different companies, demonstrating how the platform can be applied in a wide range of cases.

This fleet will also help Intel coordinate with regulators and it’ll give it more safety data to work with. Testing is set to occur in the US, Europe, and Israel (where Mobileye is based.)
