Tesla Autopilot Upgrades Coming Soon

Autopilot upgrade for Tesla cars coming soon! Would you want to try it?

Further improvements will be made to Tesla’s Autopilot system in the coming months, the company has confirmed. During an investors meeting, Tesla said an improved version of the software will roll out within the “next several months.” It’s also making a lot of progress towards its goal of letting people drive across the US without taking over.

Now that the foundation of the Tesla vision neural net is right, which was an exceptionally difficult problem, as it must fit into far less computing power than is typically used, we expect a rapid roll-out of additional functionality over the next several months and are progressing rapidly towards our goal of a coast-to-coast drive with no one touching the controls,– Tesla

Tesla avoided providing a more concrete release date for the improvements and it hasn’t fully detailed how Autopilot will change.

It stressed in a shareholder letter that it’s heavily dedicated to AI and wants to make the Tesla AI unit “one of the best teams in the world.”

Tesla ultimately wants to reach full autonomy with Autopilot, but it’s quite uncertain when that capability will arrive.
