FSP Hydro X 650W Power Supply Reviewed at HardOCP

No one really knows how important a computer power supply can be …  A decent power supply can mean the difference of having a rock solid stable system, over one’s that can fail to boot when you install high-end components. Our good friends over at HardOCP have just published a review on the FSP Hydro X 650W Power Supply.

“FSP does not have much to say about its Hydro X in terms of marketing speak, but it does hit the high points that enthusiast system builders are looking for: “Silent operation, High efficiency ≧ 90%, Full Japan-made electrolytic capacitors, Powerful single +12V rail design, Ribbon cables, and Complete protection: OCP, OVP, SCP, OPP, OTP.”

“… The FSP Hydro X 650W plays out a lot like what we first saw from the Hydro G 750W. The unit ends up being a very competent and very good, if somewhat unremarkable, performer. It just does its job well. Nothing here was absolutely smoking (either way) which means there is no single “wow” moment to point to but there were a lot of “very good,” “excellent,” “more than competitive,” etc. moments that roll up into a unit that is very well executed overall. “
