Plextor Redefines High-Speed Mobile Storage Standards With The New EX1 External SSD

Plextor, the world’s leading brand in high-performance digital storage devices, announces the launch of its new generation of lightweight, slim, and high-speed external solid-state drives (SSD) – Plextor EX1. Built with extreme speeds in mind, we have integrated the latest industry-leading USB Type-C connector with Plextor’s powerful, high-performance SSD core to provide exceptional data reading/writing speeds; fully enhancing the performance of external storage devices. The EX1 is exquisitely designed to be shock-proof, quiet during operation, lightweight, and portable; it also supports mobile storage on Android devices via OGT*. Plextor EX1 offers a revolutionary and advanced external storage option for large-capacity file transfer and backup.

The speed bottleneck of external storage devices no longer affects system performance. Plextor EX1’s design specifications focuses on speed. The USB Type-C interface supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 standards, and can provide transfer speeds 10 times faster than USB 2.0. Equipped with Plextor’s renowned SSD core, the EX1 offers amazing 550/500 MB/s continuous read/write speeds, respectively, providing data transfer efficiency that is unheard of in traditional flash drives or external hard drives.

EX1’s ultimate data transfer performance sets users free and creates a multitude of application possibilities. Tasks such as copying, transferring, or backing up large files, playing/editing ultra-high-definition video clips, or the post-production of high-resolution photos can be done instantaneously at these unprecedented speeds. EX1’s ultrafast data transmission specifications allows the external storage to perform at speeds comparable to those of internal devices, which greatly benefits users of ultra-slim laptops and mobile devices as they can instantly expand their storage capacity to run applications or access data directly from the EX1. Users can even launch operating systems and complete databases from the EX1 to streamline their efficiency in terms of both work and play.

Weighing only 30 grams, the slim and lightweight EX1 provides great data transfer speeds and is almost as compact as a conventional flash drive. The highly durable SSD storage core eliminates common problems associated with external hard drives such as shaking and over-heating. The EX1’s speed, shock resistance, and silent features add stability and convenience to mobile storage users. The simple and elegant curved design of the EX1’s exterior is available in gold and titanium silver. The package also contains a Type-C to Type-A USB adapter cable, carrying pouch and AES-256 encryption software, which perfectly complement any smartphone, tablet, or laptop to create a mobile storage solution that offers the most professional and stylish experience.

Plextor’s Senior Director Eva Lee stated, “Data transfer speed, durability, and stability are the key factors for consumers when shopping for an external storage device. Plextor’s highly regarded SSD technology has given EX1 its excellent reading/writing speeds, an extended service life, and stable performance. The new generation Type-C interface offers even faster connectivity with the latest computers and mobile devices. Sophisticated, lightning-fast, shock resistant, and durable, EX1 establishes a new standard for the next generation of external storage devices.”

The EX1 is designed and manufactured based on the highest Plextor standards. All components as well as the core SSD have passed the world’s most stringent tests.  The EX1 has an MTBF (mean time between failures) of 2.4 million hours to provide users with the ultimate confidence and reliability for long term use. To be released in November, the EX1 will be available in three capacity options – 128/256/512 GB, and covered with a five-year warranty.

*A data transfer cable that connects to your mobile phone must be purchased separately in order to use Android’s OTG feature.

If need to use on the Android device, it is recommended the disk format to FAT32. FAT32 does not support a single file size more than 4GB.
