Price drop on all APUs from AMD, as their new next-gen Richland APUs comes into mass market ... good news for vendors and consumers.
"AMD plans to cut some of its APU prices at the end of April to welcome its next-generation Richland APUs, set for launch in early June, according to sources from PC players.

Prices of AMD's APUs including A8-5600K, FX-8320, FX-6300 and FX-4300 will see 8-15% drops and the CPU maker will also start shipping its A4-4000 in mid-April for sales in mid-May priced at US$40. However, AMD has declined to comment about unannounced products."

We've just published a review on the Gigabyte Z77X-UD4H Motherboard. It's based on the Intel Z77 chipset (Ivy Bridge) and it's the next level up from the Z77X-UD3H, which we reviewed last time. Looking at the specs, it's absolutely packed with great features that's just many too list. Let's take a closer look and find out how well it performs.

"The Z77X-UD4H offers up a great bang for the buck. While it does not have tons of features like some other boards, you are not paying for those features and get all the stability and overclocking potential that you get with boards that cost twice as much. Gigabyte has done a fine job with this board."

It's here ... AMD's Richland APUs have just been launched. Expect to see a whole host of new laptops, notebooks, ultrabooks and even tablets.
"AMD on March 12 launched Richland, a new APU equipped with a Radeon HD 8000 graphics core. The APU is superior to AMD's Trinity APU in graphics and computing performance, and power management, according to Taiwan-based notebook and component makers.
The Richland-based APUs feature a 32nm process and adopt AMD's Piledriver architecture. The platform also features AllDay Power technology to extend power longevity.

The Dell XPS 18 ... is an All-In-One PC with a massive 18-inch touchscreen. It will set you back $900 though. Great specs ... crap price!
"With an 18.4-inch, 1080p display, the XPS 18 makes for a pretty enormous slate, and we were only comfortable holding it in our hands for a few minutes, though resting it on our lap worked well. The AIO sports flip-out plastic feet on its backing, and these can prop up the device vertically or at an angle. Of course, you can also use the XPS 18 as a tablet by simply laying it flat on a table or desktop, and this is the ideal mode for playing games and the like on the 10-point touchscreen.

The all-in-one will come with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse when it debuts in April, and a $50 dock will be an optional accessory. Pricing starts at $900 for a dual-core Pentium ULV and a 320GB hard drive, and the top-of-the-line configuration will offer a Core i7 CPU, 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Check out our hands-on photos for a closer look."

Now that's IMPRESSIVE ... it's also predicted that they're on course to become the first company to reach the 3 billion mark too.
"Seagate has reached an impressive milestone today with the announcement that it has become the first hard drive maker to ship 2 billion HDDs. Seagate says that the impressive number has been fueled by significant demand for storage on mobile devices, for cloud infrastructures, social media companies, business applications, and a number of consumer markets.

Seagate says it took 29 years for it to reach 1 billion units shipped, but only four years to ship its second billion hard drives."

Now that's a FIRST and interesting story ... Intel will be making the new A7 chips for Apple. Well, at least 10% of the chips will be from Intel.
"Foundry service providers Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and Samsung Electronics are reportedly competing for Apple's A7 processor orders. Rumors regarding the possibility of Intel obtaining the orders have also spread. According to institutional investors, Intel may obtain 10% of Apple's A7 processor orders.

The patent lawsuits between Samsung and Apple have been heating up, causing the latter to reduce its reliance on the former. Apple has been shifting orders of DRAM, mobile RAM chips and panels away from Samsung. Samsung used to be the sole OEM firm for Apple's processors, but the latter has now begun to issue orders to other firms.
TSMC has been said to become the second largest supplier for Apple's A7 processors and production is reportedly to begin in 2014. But recent rumors have spread that Intel may also receive Apple's orders."

We've just published a review on the PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mark III 750W PSU. Certified 80+ Gold with a continuous power output of 750W, this power supply is positioned at the top-end of the mainstream market. We take a closer look and put it through our test.

"In testing this unit did quite well, the regulation is a hair over 1%, which is very good indeed. The ripple control on the 12 V rail (the most important) is also quite good, while the 3.3V and 5V lag behind somewhat. It's all solidly within spec though, so no issues there. The looks of the unit are great, if you like white/monochrome. As it happens I do like it."
