Pica-Pod Review – Adaptive Mounting Solution

Thanks to the guys at Pica-Gear, we’ll be taking a look at the PICA-POD. It’s a mini tripod that you can adapt and optimize, allowing you mount all your accessories together to adapt to any situation in both Videography and Photography. They call it an adaptive mounting solution …

Ever since live streaming became widely available on platforms such as Facebook, Periscope, Twitch and Youtube … we wanted to film and record using light-weight devices such as iPhones and Android smartphones. The only problem with that was the battery life.

And if you attach your phone on selfie stick while streaming … there is no real way to connect a power bank when your battery life goes low. On top of that, you can ONLY mount one phone at a time on your selfie stick.

We tried using a DIY solution at the recent HK Electronics fair … which turned out OK for filming, BUT our phones ran out of juice pretty quickly, and we had to awkwardly hold both the DIY tripod with a power bank together. Believe me … IT WAS NOT COMFORTABLE !

When we came across the Pica-Gear booth at the HK Electronic fair … we knew instantly the Pica-Pod was the answer to all our problems. Let’s take a closer look at the specifications of the Pica-Pod …
