Zotac ZBOX Magnus EN1070K Gaming Mini PC Review

Thanks to ZOTAC, we’ll be reviewing the ZBOX Magnus EN1070K Gaming Mini PC. This mini PC is the next upgrade to their original Magnus EN1070 (with Intel Sky Lake processor), which we reviewed last year.

The newer ZBOX Magnus EN1070K now sports Intel’s latest 7th Gen (Kaby Lake) Core i5-7500T quad-core running at 2.7 GHz (Turbo boost up to 3.3 GHz) and like the original version comes with an impressive list of features including an onboard GeForce GTX 1070 with 8GB of GDDR5 ram, as well as support for M.2 PCIEx4 SSD/NVMe, USB 3.1 (Type-C) and dual Gigabit LAN.

I’ve always loved mini PCs, not just because of the size and power, but also for its portability… you can literally carry it anywhere. In fact, if you look at the specs of the ZBOX Magnus it has enough power to run the latest graphic intensive games. So much so, in a recent eSports event hosted by ZOTAC, they exclusively used their ZBOX Magnus for all the eSports teams who participated.

The ZBOX Magnus EN1070K is a barebones unit, so for our review we had to install our own 8GB ADATA  DDR4-2133 SO-DIMMS (2 x 4GB) and a Hynix 512GB M.2 SSD.

There’s also built-in SD Card reader, 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, 2 x USB 2.0, 2 x USB 3.0 and 2 x USB 3.1 (one Type-A and the other Type-C). For display output, there 2 x HDMI 2.0 and 2 x Displayport 1.3.

For those who don’t know who Zotac is, here’s a little blurb taken from their website …
