Cooler Master N600 Chassis Review

A Closer Look: Interior

The interior of the N600 chassis is very spacious due the the length of the case. So much length, in fact, can accomodate up to a 16.9in graphics card! The black finish looks really attractive and is standard in many chassis these days. A few points that grab our attention right away are the large cpu backplate cutout in the motherboard tray, grommeted cable management holes, and plenty of tie-off locations for zip ties.

On the right side of the N600 we can get another look at the cpu backplate hole, cable management possibilities, as well as another location for either an optional 120mm fan or 240mm radiator. There is ample room between the sidepanel and the motherboard tray for cables to fit without obstructing the sidepanel itself.

The storage cages will peak our interest as well. Notice that the cage is adjustable to accomodate either 2.5″ or 3.5″ hard drives. Removing three screws will allow you to slide one side of the cage to make this change. With SSDs becoming more mainstream, I believe that accomodating a configuration such as this is crucial and will eventually become an important factor in the purchasing decisions of the consumer. The upper optical storage bays, dubbed EZ Tray, feature latches for tool-less installation. There is also a 120mm fan installed here as well. We will visit that in more detail later in the review.

The rear of the N600 is pretty standard with a 120mm fan and thumbscrews for the expansion bays installed. It is nice to see the continuing trend of a bottom mounted power supply space and equally great that there is a removeable filter in place as well. There is ample room above the motherboard to install either two 120mm fans or a 240mm radiator.

The front panel detaches very easily for mesh cleaning and installing optical drives. The fact that there are no cables attached to the front panel is great which makes removal even easier and less time consuming. I will note here that while it is possible to install a second 120mm fan in the front, that will require the removal of the front panel attachment to gain access to the upper right screw hole. The front panel cables are all of adequate length and thankfully black to match the interior of the chassis.

Now that we have examined the interior of the N600, let us take a closer look at the installation of some hardware and the finished looks!
