Deepcool Neptwin Dual-Tower Heatsink Review

This cooler’s been a long time coming for us here at FK, what with the release of the Haswell and the new series of motherboards to support it.

According to the specifications, the Deepcool Neptwin Dual-Tower Heatsink features 6 U-shape sintered powder heatpipes and Twin-tower heatsinks giving superb cooling performance. It comes with dual super silent 120mm fans, one with PWM function allowing for excellent airflow. It’s compatible with a host of CPUs including Intel LGA2011/1366/1156/1155/1150/775 and AMD FM2/FM1/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2.

So let’s not waste anymore time keeping you in suspense.  This is Neptwin’s latest contribution to CPU cooling.

Although Deepcool was established way back in 1996, they’re a relatively new comer to the industry as far as I’m concerned (I’ve only heard of them this year). So here’s a little blurb taken from their website

Deepcool was founded with the mission of providing the best performance and humanized thermal solutions for worldwide customers. Established in 1996, Deepcool originally produced desktop and server coolers for ODM partners. With the rapid development of personal computers, Deepcool expanded the business into desktop cooling products and laptop cooling accessories.  Deepcool has built up its distribution network in over sixty countries all over the globe, by which end-users can purchase Deepcool products online or in their nearest local stores.

With more and more media exposure and publication, such as awards from renowned websites and magazines like Pure Overclock, Tom’s Hardware, Guru3d, CHIP, etc., Deepcool now enjoys a good reputation among computer daily users, gamers and overclockers.  We will always spare no effort to maintain customer satisfaction by serving our customer’s ever-changing thermal needs and providing the quickest and most comprehensive service available. As our slogan goes, we wish you all “Enjoy your cool life!”

We’ll be testing the Deepcool Neptwin Dual-Tower CPU Cooler using my usual test rig, which is comprised of the following … an Intel Core i7 4770k (Haswell), Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H Motherboard (Review Pending), 8gb Patriot Viper Extreme 1600mhz, Corsair 600W CX600 PSU and Radeon HD 7790 graphics card.

For our overclocking tests … we’ll be pushing the 4770K to 4.1GHz at 1.15v Core and 4.5GHz with 1.3v Core. Let’s see how this CPU cooler can handle it …
