Package and its contents

Scythe Fuma has arrived in a retail package which is not so big box. Outside we can find full specification, cooler drawings and descriptions in couple of languages. Nice work. Package is also fully recyclable.

Inside we can find everything what we need to install our new cooler and some more. There are mounting kits for most Intel and AMD sockets excluding mentioned AM4. We will test Scythe Fuma on the Intel platform so package contents are just perfect for our needs.

Everything in the package is fits tight what causes that the box is not big and at the same time everything is well protected for the time of transport.

Our package contains two Slip Stream 120 PWM fans. On the radiator we can install three of them but it’s not necessary and third fan won’t affect performance much.

Base of the cooler is made of nickel-plated copper and has mirror finish. It’s really probably the best effect on the market. The same we have seen in our previous Scythe cooler reviews like Ninja 4 or Mugen 5. Simply great work.

Radiator looks great. There are six thick heatpipes which are connecting two towers and are passing through copper base. The cooler itself isn’t really big. It’s a bit smaller than already mentioned Ninja 4 or Mugen 5 and should fit into smaller case.

Slip Stream fans are really quiet up to about 1000 RPM. Above this speed we can clearly hear them but it’s still not as loud as some competitive fans. During our tests only full CPU load was causing fans to spin at more than 1100 RPM. In all other tests we couldn’t really hear the fans what is great.

Because if its size, the Fuma can be interesting option for all users who have smaller cases but still wish to install high performance cooling.

The only issue can cause tall memory. If you are planning to buy Scythe Fuma then better decide on low profile memory or only two memory modules if you have four memory slot motherboard. On our ASUS Maximus IX Apex was impossible to install tall memory like G.Skill Trident Z in first memory slot. However we have couple of other memory kits so we could use other one for all our tests.

Let’s move to the next page to take a closer look at the test results.
