Package and Closer Look

Package is simple and doesn’t have many descriptions. I guess that the same package is used for more than one product. On the other hand it’s a product which is mostly available in online stores so what you get has its photos and descriptions on the store website.

In the package we can find the Heatkiller IV water block and a mounting kit with backplate. We won’t need the backplate as the 2066 socket has it already built-in, the same as 2011/2011-3. These three sockets are using the same mounting kit which are four screws with springs.

Users who have already purchased this water block for previous Intel generation and wish to upgrade, can be happy that they don’t have to replace whole cooling with new CPU.

The Heatkiller is fully nickel-plated. Under the nickel layer is pure copper. As you can expect it offers the best heat transfer but also protects exterior of the block from stains. You will enjoy the great looks and performance for a long time.

Interior has high-flow design what let to use even lower performance pumps and still provides high performance. Some higher speed pumps are making buzzing noise which is often louder than used fans so if you think about silent PC then Heatkiller’s high-flow design may help in that.

As you can see, design of the Heatkiller looks pretty simple but it’s actually an advantage. It gives high quality, professional looks instead of gaming toy effect, what many other brands offer. Not too flashy but catches the eye and it’s hard not to notice it in the high-end PC.

Quality of the Heatkiller is really amazing. Everything fits and works perfectly. Mounting kit is also simple but functional and the water block is really easy to install.

As you can see in our gallery, CNC work is on the highest level. The best quality for your exceptional computer.

If you can see little brighter dots on some photos then it can be light reflection or a bit of dust which could be in the air. All photos are showing the real product, nothing was edited.

I’m just saying that as I know how good the Heatkiller IV looks in real and I don’t want our readers to have bad impression because of my photos.

There is no issue to install large fittings. Thread distance is 25mm so it’s enough for any type of fittings. My favourite are 10/16 compression fittings which were used in this review. On the photos is quite standard version but if you wish something more fancy then nothing stands on the way to install it.

Bottom of the block is perfectly flat. It doesn’t have pure mirror finish but is really close. It’s one of the best effects I’ve seen on water blocks. Protective film was quite hard to remove but it doesn’t leave any glue so it’s fine. I still recommend to clean the base with some higher % alcohol or liquid designed for that.
