Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 Convertible Laptop Review

Verdict and Conlusion

The current market for portable devices such as tablets, 2-in-1s and laptops is really saturated more than ever before. So choosing the right one can be bit of a headache. To make things easier … I recommend choosing one that best suits your needs.

The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 is really aimed and designed for the business power user, who requires a portable Windows based device that can offer good performance, durability and portability with added touchscreen options.

The speedy Intel Core i7-7Y75 (7th Gen CPU – Kaby Lake) provides all the power you’ll ever need. While the onboard 16GB of ram should run most applications with ease. And for storage … how about a massive 512GB of super fast SSD storage. One thing that really surprised me, was the phenomenal disk performance … reaching up to 1,842 Mb/sec read and 1,608 Mb/sec write!

The whole chassis is made from quality CNC machined aluminum, with carbon fiber composite palm rest and soft touch paint. Weighing in at only 1.24kg, it’s not only light-weight but robust. Not to mention the The large 13.3” FHD (1920 x 1080) InfinityEdge touch display, which is made from premium Corning Gorilla Glass.

One of the main selling point of the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 is the built-in premium 360-degree hinge for four, flexible positions – tablet, tent, laptop and stand mode – so you can watch, work or surf the way you want.

Average prices of the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 will cost you around USD $999-1,500, which is pretty steep for most users.   But then again, this device isn’t really aimed at this market. I think Dell is targeting more at the business power users instead. The model we reviewed costs $1,799! Buy now from Amazon – https://goo.gl/XvhTfp.

Pros:

  • Powered by an Intel Core i7-7Y75 (7th Gen CPU – Kaby Lake)
  • 512GB SSD storage

Final Thoughts:

If you’re after a high performance, premium Windows based 2-in-1 device, then the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 is definitely worth considering. Use it as a laptop or a tablet, in tent or stand mode, the choice is yours. It’s compact and fairly light-weight with excellent build quality to match.
