G.Skill Trident Z 2x16GB DDR4-3200 CL15 Memory Kit Review

Verdict and Conclusion

Just to let you know, it’s not a sponsored review and all what I said is based on my experience. Trident Z is simply the best memory series on the market and competition isn’t even close looking at the products available in mass sales. I mean try to find any 16GB DDR4-3200 memory kit at CL15-15-15 or tighter timings from any other brand than G.Skill. It’s really hard while G.Skill is offering even tighter timings or much higher frequency.

In our review we were testing 2x16GB DDR4-3200 CL15 memory kit but there is available also CL14 version. Something that wouldn’t possible at 4GB modules about a year ago. It’s pretty amazing, especially that we were able to set DDR4-3600 CL14 what had no issues to pass all benchmarks!

If you consider frequency, capacity and exceptional design then you can clearly say that Trident Z isn’t average memory. On the other hand price isn’t really high comparing to standard memory kits. Tested memory kit costs about $190. About $15 more costs CL14 version so I would think if it’s not better idea. I assume that both are using similar memory IC and looking at our overclocking results you will be able to set CL14 on both kits so all depends if you wish to have guaranteed settings or try your luck in overclocking. Pros:

  • Great performance
  • Looks great
  • High overclocking potential
  • High capacity
  • High quality
  • Still reasonable price even though hard to say it’s inexpensive

Cons:

  • None worth to mention

Final words:

I can easily recommend G.Skill Trident Z 32GB DDR4-3200 CL15 memory kit as the best balance between price and performance at so high capacity. It also looks great so regardless if you are demanding enthusiast or photo/videographer, this memory is the best choice for you. It’s also inexpensive considering how much it offers. Simply you won’t find better offer on the current memory market.
