MSI Z170M Mortar Motherboard Review

Overclocking

Disclaimer: Overclocking is never guaranteed so the results may vary depending on certain conditions and various hardware configurations. I am not recommending overclocking if you do not know what are you doing. High voltages may damage hardware and it will not be covered by warranty.

We managed to overclock the Core i5-6600K to a whopping 4.5GHz with no issues whatsoever. It’s probably one of the easiest overclock I’ve done for a while, this is all to the simple to use options in the MSI BIOS.

We managed to get some very good temperatures for our overclocked CPU at 4.5GHZ. Only 46 degrees Celsius at full load … this is all thanks to the watercooling setup we used, which is comprised of all Thermaltake watercooling parts.
