HyperX Cloud Alpha Gaming Headset Review

Closer Look

HyperX Cloud Alpha is one more HyperX headset but is sharing many features of the previous products and is adding some more.

From the shared features we have comfort. This headset is really comfortable. Even couple of hours of playing games or listening to music is not really causing any issues. It feels a bit lighter than the HyperX Revolver but it’s also a bit different product.

Also design is similar to previous products but what’s more important, it’s also durable with braided cables. I can’t say the same about all competitive products so it’s clearly an advantage of the Cloud Alpha.

Sound quality is great. It’s maybe a bit too general so I will say some more. High tones are really clear and it’s one of the moments when I don’t doubt in the specification and given frequency range. It’s also one of the only headsets where bass is really deep but at the same time there is no distortion which can be often heard on competitive headsets or even earlier HyperX series. It’s one of the first headsets which gave me the “wow” effect since the first minutes.

I won’t hide that I’m using headsets to listen to music more than to play games. Also, I’m not saying I’m not playing games as I waste a lot of time gaming and I actually could play less.

HyperX Cloud Alpha gives great experience which is hard to describe. I guess that dual chamber technology is really helping and is not one more marketing slogan.

Below you can see marketing video. However as I said ( and maybe it’s hard to believe ) all that is true.

I won’t list games or music albums which I checked. Simply everything sounds great. We had little issues in some games or movies on earlier products but the Cloud Alpha doesn’t need anything else to sound clear. It’s just amazing.

Microphone quality is also good and I had no issues with its work. It’s detachable what for me is actually an advantage as I’m not using mic much. When it’s needed then I can always plug it.

I’m not the biggest fan of the design as red/black is already a bit boring. Most gaming products are red/black. I know these are colours of HyperX but I guess there could be some changes or additional options to refresh whole products line. I’m sometimes a bit picky. I guess it won’t make any difference when you have the headset on your head as what counts the most is sound quality.
