X2 KONDOR / X2-HS7007-USB Gaming Headset Review

Performance and Testing

Design

The low price of the KONDOR is very obvious when you look at the design of the headset. The earcups are white plastic and the headband and earpads are made of some synthetic material that has a very “cheap” feel to it.

Same thing goes for the cable on the headset, something that you might think doesn’t matter, but it looks like some kind of tubing you find in the engine room of a low priced car and further brings down the overall “feel” of quality.

Initial setup

Setting up the headphones are naturally very easy since there is just USB for the LED lights, and 3.5mm connectors for audio and mic. No software to deal with so you’re up and running in a matter of seconds.

Sound

X2 promises amazing audio through 40mm Hi-Fi speakers, this is sadly not the case however and there is plenty to wish for from a headset that is said to be designed with “gaming enjoyment in mind”.

There is a clear lack of both lows and highs so for games like Battlefield 1, this headset won’t make you enjoy the game any where near as much as you would with a more premium headset.

Microphone

The mic was on this headset was, according to my friends on Discord, close to unbearable. They said it sounded like a lived in a tin can, and even though I was talking with a normal tone they asked me why I was “whispering”.

Conclusion & Verdict

Even if you consider the low price of the KONDOR I would not recommend anyone to spend their money on this headset. You are better off saving your money for when you can afford a better headset.

Pros

  • Low price

Cons

  • Low quality
  • Terrible mic
  • Bad frequency range
  • Very low comfort

Final thoughts

The design and overall quality on the KONDOR is sadly not even wheighed up by it’s small price tag. In a market that has so much to offer when it comes to both cheap and expensive headsets you are better off spending your hard earned money somewhere else. If you ask me X2 should go back to the drawing board and really put some effort into designing the headset they describe when they write about the KONDOR. Because if they can create a product that matches what they promise, I’m confident they will quickly make a name for themselves.

Thank you for reading, have a Funky Day!
