Kingston DataTraveler Bolt Duo 64GB Flash Drive Review

Performance

All tests were performed on the Dell Inspiron 13 laptop with 8th generation of Intel Core processor. Used operating system was Windows 10 Pro x64 with the latest updates. Let’s say typical modern laptop.

First test as usual is ATTO Disk Benchmark.

As we see, sequential read is up to 127MB/s while sequential write is up to 20.7MB/s. Read bandwidth looks much better. Write is a bit low for a new flash drive but Iooks like it’s enough to write and read photos and other material in realtime on Apple devices.

Let’s check how the Bolt Duo performs in additional tests.

CrystalDiskMark is showing really good performance in all read tests while write bandwidth is again not the best. Random read is quite high regardless to what other USB flash drive we would compare it. We can see clear improvements in new flash drives like in our last review which was published couple of days ago. The Bolt is about three times faster in random operations than flash drives from last years.

In Anvil’s benchmark is about the same situation. Read bandwidth is high, write could be better. General performance still looks good so I guess that most users won’t complain. This flash drive was designed for mobility rather than breaking bandwidth records and for that it seems perfect.
