Lexar Portable SSD, as expected, is offering SSD level performance. We can count on transfers up to 450MB/s but if we can see it mainly depends from USB 3.0 controller.
Listed features are pretty clear so I don’t think they need additional description so let’s take a look at the product itself.
Lexar Portable SSD has brand new package which I haven’t seen before. It’s a nice looking box which is simple but effective. I will even say that it presents better than the Professional line product package which we could see in other reviews on the Funky Kit.
Front and back of the package are including basic specification, hardware requirements and contact to support in couple of languages. It’s about all we need to know deciding on this product.
Inside the box we can find SSD itself and an USB 3.0 cable. Not so much but enough to fully use the Portable SSD.
Lexar SSD looks nearly the same as other products from Professional Workflow line. It can be also used with four bay reader hubs what is great advantage for all who need to use multiple cards and other mobile storage devices.
Below you can see how looks back of the SSD. There is a label with serial and product numbers but also rubber skidproof pad. Nice addition but I’m not sure if it’s really necessary for so light storage device which can be easily moved. Anyway it looks good.
Now it’s time to check how Lexar Portable SSD is performing.
