HIS Radeon HD 7750 Low Profile (1GB GDDR5) Review

The Box and Packaging

Packaging on the HIS 7750 is your standard HIS affair. A box with a cool looking sword along with various marketing and product information pieces. Basic information like PCIE 3.0, 1GB GDDR5, 4k resolutions and HDMI are plastered on the box. Opening things up, HIS has moved away from the sleek black box on their higher end models and has gone with a standard brown box. Inside of that you get the card itself, a half-height bracket a couple of DVDs with drivers and the iTurbo software as well as a user manual. Sadly there was no case badge in the box which kind of broke my heart since I am a sucker for them.

The card and iCooler heatsink

The card itself is small, yet big at the same time. It is a half-height card that can have a low-profile bracket installed and have the VGA port removed to fit in slim HTPC cases. On the other hand it is big because this card takes up two to three slots depending on if you want to give the fans some space to breath. If you want to cram all the cards in the case that you can, expect to lose two slots minimum to the HIS 7750.

Looking at the cooler it is your standard slab of aluminum. There is no copper to be found anywhere on this heatsink, not that it is really needed. Since the 7750 hardly generates any heat this heatsink is still more than enough. Dual fans keep things nice and quiet and it was a chore to try and hear this video card even under full load. Of course things get louder once you manually kick up the fan speed but under normal conditions it is hard to know that the card is running aside from the spinning fans.

The PCB of the card is a nice shade of blue. It is a nice change of pace from the black that most card makers are using these days. Of course it does stick out a bit when compared with the black that motherboard makers are gravitating toward.
