Introduction

OCZ sent me a box, inside this box was a box, inside that box was yet another box, inside the final box very nice looking SSD. This is the review of that SSD, the OCZ Vertex 3 MaxIOPS 240GB.

Last year OCZ decided to consolidate their business somewhat, they phased RAM out in favor of greater SSD R&D and production. One of the drives that they have built since then is this top end drive.

OCZ's "About Us" page offers us a description of the company "at a glance":

"Founded in 2002, San Jose, California-based OCZ Technology Group, Inc. has built on its expertise in high-speed memory to become a dominant player in the manufacturing and distribution of solid state drives (SSDs), a disruptive, game-changing technology that is replacing traditional rotating magnetic hard disk drives (HDDs). In addition to SSD technology, OCZ also offers high performance components for computing devices and systems, including enterprise class power management products and industrial power accessories"

I expect most people are more interested in OCZ's OCZ Vertex 3 240GB MaxIOPS than OCZ as a company, so lets check out the features and specifications!
