HKCCF 2017 – Esports and Computer Festival, Hong Kong

We check out the HKCCF 2017 – Computer and Esports festival at the Wanchai Exhibition Centre, Hong Kong. It’s that time of the year (usually around every Summer), where the organisers Cyber Games Arena hosts their Esports tournament as part of the HKCCF event.

Local and regional teams battle it out to win big cash prizes, including tournaments for CS:GO ROG Master, FIFA 2017, HeartStone, Clash Royale and Street Fighter V.

For the rest of us and the thousands of eager visitors, HKCCF were hosts to hundreds of local IT retailers and resellers selling their goods with massive discounts.

Here’s a little blurb about Cyber Games Arena and the HKCCF …

Cyber Games Arena

“The gaming industry has become very popular all over the world, and even in Europe and the United States, it has become a professional sport. Recently, the Asian region has begun to actively developing Esports communities and tournaments, and CGA is convinced that the gaming movement represents the link between people and challenges.

With the aim of promoting Hong Kong’s gaming and Esports scene, we hope that we will be able to contribute to the Hong Kong gaming industry, and unite the Hong Kong gaming enthusiasts in the hope that it will one day become a major sporting event in which we will be able to carry out the spirit of Hong Kong. Finally, CGA hopes to rewrite history, to create a esports battlefield belonging to the people of Hong Kong.” – https://www.cga.hk/

Also we check out the booths from the main sponsors … Asus and Logitech.

Asus

The Asus/ROG booth was quite impressive and it was packed with some great gaming hardware, including the Centurion gaming headset, Claymore keyboard and the recent ROG GR8 II Mini Gaming PC which we reviewed last week. They also has a special, limited edition, custom-made desk PC on display, which was quite a head turner.

Logitech

Being one of the main sponsors of the event, Logitech made their presence known! Their booth was packed with tons of gaming accessories … from gaming keyboards and mice to headsets and joysticks for simulators. To top it off … they hosted a mini gaming competition for the public, as well as some show girls to attract the crowds.

DJI

We couldn’t resist. We had to have a go on the DJI Spark. I loved it. I want it and I got to have it!

Initially, I had my doubts about flying a drone, but seriously, the controls were SUPER easy to use.

That’s all folks. I hope you’ve enjoyed the photos and our coverage of HKCCF 2017. See you again next year …
