Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Launch Showcasing Vulcan API @1080p

Last month we saw the announcement of the AMD Radeon Pro Duo. It was turning a lot of heads. And of course, we didn’t expect Nvidia to just site there and do nothing …

Our good friends from HardOCP was at the Nvidia CPU conference with a front row seat and video footage of the recent Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 launch showcasing the Vulcan API running @1080p.

“NVIDIA’s press day about the new GTX 1080 keeps getting better. We got to be the first people in the world to see DOOM running on the Vulcan API and a GTX 1080 at up to about 200 frames per second.”

Not even joking when I say, it’s total bullshit to promote a new line of cards this powerful at 1080p resolution. 4K at a steady 60fps should have been the demonstration.

True… But not a lot of people have 4K monitors yet. Maybe in a couple of years time.
