Top 3 Kodi Repositories For All Your Android TV Box Add-ons

Kodi is one of the best media players you can install on your Android TV box. It not only plays traditional audio/video media, but also lets you access a wide array of streaming services. So many streaming services, in fact, that it can be a gigantic pain to manually install and update each and every one of them.

Fortunately, we have Kodi repositories.

These repositories are basically plug-ins designed to help you more easily work with a bunch of other add-ons. Repositories – or “repos” – also remove add-ons that are broken or incompatible with your version of Kodi.

So without further ado, here are three of the best Kodi repositories you can find on an Android TV box:

Kodi TV Add-Ons

First off is the official repository that the Kodi team bundle with Kodi itself.

The most important point to note is that this software is already installed in the Kodi player. That means all you need to do is open up Kodi, select the add-ons browser, pick out a few to install, and let the player handle the rest. This makes the official add-on repository the easiest one to work with.

The official repo also ensures that you’re steered toward legitimate add-ons. The Kodi team does its best to ensure that the add-ons you find are legal and work properly with your Android TV box. However, the built-in repository is quite limited. Once you exhaust the list or are looking for another add-on that’s not on the list, you’ll want to move on to SuperRepo.

SuperRepo

If you want breadth of choice, then you’ll want to work with SuperRepo on your Android TV box. Installing it is a bit tricky though, and requires you to go online.

  1. To install SuperRepo, open up the “System” tab of the Kodi Player.
  2. Go to “File Manager”, then “Add Source.”
  3. Bring up the keyboard and type in “http://srp.nu” – without the quotation marks.
  4. Put down “SuperRepo” as the name of the source and click “OK”.
  5. Now go back to the homepage of the Kodi Player.
  6. Under “System”, pick “Settings” and then “Add-Ons.”
  7. Select “Install from ZIP File”, then “SuperRepo” from the subsequent screen.
  8. Select the folder that corresponds to your version of Kodi.
  9. Once done, scroll down to find “Repositories”. Select it, then select “Download this repo.”
  10. After that, select “Get Add-ons”, then “SuperRepo Repositories”.

You’ll be presented with a list of sub-repositories each representing a category of add-ons. These include video, music, skins, programs, and the like. This should unlock more than 2,400 add-ons for you to choose from.

XunityTalk

XunityTalk is another repo with a ton of add-ons that complement both SuperRepo and the official repo. It’s another solid choice for when you need more add-ons to work with – most notably iStream.

  1. To install XunityTalk, open up the “System” tab of the Kodi Player.
  2. Go to “File Manager”, then “Add Source.”
  3. Bring up the keyboard and type in “http://xunitytalk.me/xfinity” – without the quotation marks.
  4. Put down “XunityTalk” as the name of the source and click “OK”.
  5. Now go back to the homepage of the Kodi Player.
  6. Under “System”, pick “Settings” and then “Add-Ons.”
  7. Select “Install from ZIP File”, then “XunityTalk” from the subsequent screen.
  8. Once done, scroll down to find “XunityTalk_Repository”. Select it, then select “Download this repo.”

Once done, you should have access to XunityTalk’s library of add-ons. It focuses mainly on streaming movies and TV channels.

There’s one very important thing to note when working with third-party repositories like SuperRepo and XunityTalk. Quite a few live-streaming channels are – at best – standing on questionable legal grounds. If you would rather avoid piracy, then you will have to stick to the official Kodi repo or be very selective about the add-ons you choose to install on your Android TV box.
