Xiaomi Introduces the MI Robot Vacuum

Xiaomi makes a clean sweep today with our latest Mi Ecosystem product – MI ROBOT VACUUM. Our highly advanced robotic housekeeper uses a Laser Distance Sensor (LDS)—an in-house developed technology—which allows it to scan its surroundings 360º, 1800 times/sec, and is equipped with a slew of Xiaomi-style advancements that will allow you to clean your home quickly and efficiently.

Mi Robot Vacuum is a highly intelligent robot; a built-in Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) algorithm lets it easily map out the lay of the land and calculate the best cleaning path. It is also equipped with 12 sensors, plus a main hover brush that dynamically self-adjusts to clean uneven floors together with a powerful Nidec brushless motor for high-performance cleaning.

Like other Mi Ecosystem products, Mi Robot Vacuum readily integrates with the Mi Home app. It can be switched on and controlled remotely; it also lets you set regular cleaning schedules.

– 12 sensors including Laser Distance Sensor (LDS), ultrasonic radar sensor, cliff sensor, gyroscope and accelerometer
– LDS developed entirely in-house: able to scan its surroundings 360 degrees, 1800 times/sec, similar to the laser guiding system used by self-driving cars
– 3 dedicated processors and a total of 4 CPU cores for real-time mapping and positioning
– Use of Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) algorithm to calculate optimized cleaning paths
– Powerful Nidec brushless DC motor (up to 1800Pa air pressure)
– Ultra-quiet airflow
– Main hover brush automagically adjusts height to create a tight seal with floor for thorough dirt pick-up on uneven surfaces
– Maintains 1cm distance from walls for the side brush to effectively clean near walls
– 5200mAh battery yields up to 2.5 hours of cleaning on a single charge
– Mi Home app integration lets you control robot remotely and set scheduled cleaning. It also shows you the path in real-time and estimates how long it’ll take to completely clean the home
– Smart return brings back Mi Robot Vacuum to its charging dock when low power is detected and lets it go back to its last cleaning location once charged

Mi Robot Vacuum will be available in China on 6 September for RMB 1699 on Mi.com and Mi Home stores in China
