AMD Ryzen 7 1700X Buyer Gets Early Delivery, Benchmarks It & Publishes The Results

A user on reddit got an early delivery of his AMD Ryzen 7 1700X CPU, he proceeded to benchmark it and publish the results. The embargo on Ryzen reviews won’t go up until 9 AM CT on March 2nd, which is roughly 11 hours from now. So you’re about to see the very first results of an actual retail AMD Ryzen 7 1700X CPU.

The lucky user by the name of suet0604 tested his CPU in Counter Strike Global Offensive, 3DMark Fire Strike and CPU-Z.

System Specs :
CPU : Ryzen 7 1700X 8-core 16-thread 3.4GHz base, 3.8GHz boost.
Motherboard : Asus Crosshair VI Hero.
Memory : 16GB 3200MHz G.Skill DDR4 Memory
Graphics Card : Radeon R9 390X

Counter Strike : Global Offensive

Let’s start with the CS:GO benchmark first. With all settings set to low at 720p the Ryzen 7 1700X managed to achieve 289.91 frames a second in the game’s built-in benchmark. This is with an AMD Radeon R9 390X.

By comparison,  an i5 6600K overclocked to 4.6GHz paired with a GTX 1070, a GPU that’s noticeably faster than the 390X, achieves around ~250 frames a second. The Ryzen 7 1700X manages to establish a shockingly commanding lead here.

3DMark Fire Strike

As it turns out, 3DMark is smart enough to know that the 1700X hasn’t officially been released yet and has hidden the result from its database. Although, as it turns out, it wasn’t smart enough to hide the page description which clearly describes the system specs, including the 1700X.
In the physics portion of the  3DMark Fire Strike test the Ryzen 7 1700X managed to score 18,229 points which puts it firmly in the lead of the similarly priced 6800K. In fact, it also manages to come out ahead of the previously leaked 1700X score.
