You Must Have been Living Under a Rock if You Still haven’t Heard About Bitcoins

Lately there has been more and more buzz about Bitcoins. The exchange rate has increased ten-fold this year as the virtual currency has become more and more popular. ASRock wants to make sure that you are aware of this especially since they have available motherboards designed specifically for Bitcoin Mining.

TAIPEI, Taiwan, December 6, 2013 – Back in May 22, 2010 an internet user with the pseudonym “laszlo” made the world’s first bitcoin trade. He bought two large pizzas which were worth $25 for exactly 10,000 bitcoins, only because “I just think it would be interesting if I could say that I paid for a pizza in bitcoins.” Who would ever have thought that this virtual currency would go viral in merely a couple of years? And how could anyone even dream that a single bitcoin could amount to $1000 USD today? Putting “Laszlo” into the internet hall of fame for buying the most expensive pizza ever known to mankind online. Two large pizzas for an insane $10,000,000!

Due to its fast transfer speeds and safeness as a payment system, this four year old virtual currency is spreading quickly around the globe while gaining more and more recognition from internet users and even authorities. The German Finance Ministry has officially announced bitcoins as a “unit of account”. Bitcoin ATMs are being installed in Canada. Even Paris Baguette, a franchise bakery in South Korea now accepts bitcoins for its bread.

Anyone can get their hands on bitcoins through “mining”. Miners can choose between scavenging alone or working in packs and then distributing the loot afterwards. All it takes is a reliable bitcoin mining machine, patience and some luck. The buzz has grown so great that even the motherboard manufacturer ASRock has designed two motherboards for bitcoin mining – H81 Pro BTC and H61 Pro BTC! Both boast six PCIe slots for multiple mining graphics cards. And in contrast to other so called bitcoin motherboards that risk the chance of overheating and bursting into flames during the mining process, ASRock has also added two extra 4 pin power connectors for extra mining power and stability.
