Corsair Accidentally Reveals 10GB/s MP700 PCIe Gen5 SSD

It’s one of the first PCIE Gen5 SSDs that can reach above 10GB/s (tasty). I guess someone must have forgotten the NDA. Anyway, we can expect an offfical announcement pretty soon.

Taken from Videocardz … The video was first spotted by Overclock3D who managed to capture the still. Furthermore, they were able to read the description, which confirms that this storage will use NVMe 2.0 protocol, and it will use high-density 3D TLC NAND memory.

Corsair MP700 is an M.2 2280 form factor storage solution with a large black aluminum heatsink and a single fan. The company also mentions Microsoft DirectStorage technology enabling ‘unprecedented load times’, but this technology does not require any certification or special enablement by Corsair.

This MP700 SSD will become another PCIe Gen5 option with speeds reaching 10 GB/s. Thus far most of such products require active cooling, and it is not clear if they can be used just as efficiently under a motherboard heatsink.

Corsair teased its MP700 storage solution way before it became a topic number one. Intel’s 600 motherboard series had limited support for this standard, and only AMD latest AM5 based platform and Intel Z790 series can truly take the full advantage of this technology.
