Speed Test and Comparison
The Asus Blue Cave AC2600 was pitted against its other sibling, the Asus BRT-828 (AC2600) and our other router, the Linksys WRT 1200 AC. You can see the results for yourself. Using my 1 Gigbit fiber connection from Netvigator (HKT), the Asus Blue Cave has a raw download speed of 956.66 Mbps, which is slightly lower than that of the Linksys WRT 1200.

5G Wifi speed was very impressive with a maximum download speed of 434 Mbps, same goes for the 2.4G wifi speed at 78.8 Mbps for download.
Verdict and Conclusion
As you can see from the test results, the Asus Blue Cave performed as expected. Download speeds from my 1 Gb fiber was very impressive, it’s one of the fastest I’ve come across at 956.66 Mbps.
What makes the Blue Cave router really stand out above the rest, is its looks and design. It’s something most manufacturers tend to over look. No more protruding antennas. It’s the kind of device you can put in your living room or your bedroom, without having it look odd or completely out of place.
As far as options are concerned. The Asus Blue Cave comes with more than you’ll ever need. You can setup your Security, Parental Control, VPN, QoS, Traffic analyzer, Apps, AiDisk, guest network and much, much more. What’s more, there are 3 modes you can can choose to set up the Asus Blue Cave as a wireless router, an access point or as media bridge.
Pricewise, the Asus Blue Cave AC2600 Dual Band WiFi Router will cost you around USD $170 from Amazon, which I think is acceptable considering it does offer a lot more than your average AC2600 router.

Final thoughts
I can’t fault the Asus Blue Cave router. It looks great in any decor and its super easy to set up. I thought it was going to be just an ordinary router that offers AC2600 speed, but it turned out to much more. There’s 3 modes of operation, wifi router, access point and media bridge and offers amazing download speeds for LAN, 5G and 2.4G wifi.
