Asus Hyper M.2 x16 Card Review

The Box and Packaging

There’s not much inside the box. Just the Asus Hyper M.2 x16 Card, an instruction manual and 4 sets of M.2 screws.

The Asus Hyper M.2 x16 Card

The expansion card is in a single slot PCIE form factor and feels really solid, thanks to its large Aluminum heatsink/shield.

There’s a gap at the end of the card allowing airflow to help with the cooling, and this is powered by an internal fan.

On the I/O panel, you’ll find a on/off switch for internal fan, and there are 4 x LED indicators for M.2 slots.

A Closer Look

There’s not much to see on the bare PCB … just the internal fan, and the 4 x M.2 slots. The heatsink/shield is laced with 4 x thermal heat pads for your M.2 SSDs. This helps with efficient heat transfer between the M.2 SSD and the heatsink/shield.
