AOC AGON PD27 Porsche Design Gaming Monitor Review

Conclusion and Verdict

The response time of .5ms will be the best available when this monitor hits the market and on a VA none-the-less. The sRGB% Coverage had me impressed with a 119%. This monitor has it all. The refresh rate of 240Hz, I could keep going on and on…. Porsche Design has a long standing of only working with who they think are the best. So that says a lot about AOC. After reading through the specs I bet you are just as excited as me to see this thing in action! After testing and using the monitor for several days I continued to be amazed. I wish I could have recorded actual footage in Realtime but I don’t have a 4K camera that could accurately record the screen. The smear is basically non existent. If you do the simple test of grabbing a window and fling it around the screen, the 240Hz and .5ms response really shine. Something you really to witness firsthand. If you are getting this monitor then you are getting a best in class monitor. This is no normal monitor. The PD27 is geared towards enthusiasts and competitive gamers. You get the very best specs you could possibly hope for. AOC is a a very transparent company when it comes to Specifications of their products. If it isn’t capable of it they don’t advertise it. And this monitor is loaded with top tier specifications.

The monitor’s design is accented by the silver-colored stand element, shaped like the roll cage of a race car. Just as it does in an actual sports car, it provides the user the stability, durability and endurance when adrenaline kicks in. Staying true to Porsche Design’s design philosophy to elegantly blend style and performance, the PD27 can project its logos on the table in different colors, and light up the back of the display to elevate the gaming environment.

The PD27 is developed for the most ambitious competitive gamers and professional e-sports enthusiasts around the world. It displays images in QHD resolution (2560×1440) and produces a 240 Hz refresh rate, a perfect combination for demanding players. The PD27 is also certified with VESA’s DisplayHDR 400, providing vivid, lifelike colors and a wide dynamic range that allows users to immerse themselves in the simulated world. Additionally, a very tight curvature of 1000R (1 m radius) surrounds and encapsulates the user, a particularly great feature for the sim racing community.

One thing I have yet to mention are the speakers. These are honestly the best set of speakers I have heard in a monitor. The have a decent sound and get plenty loud enough. If you are in a pinch and don’t have a external set of speakers, then don’t worry because you wont be disappointed by the sound from the built in speakers.

Everything you need to know: 240Hz, .5ms response, Curved VA panel, sRGB coverage, P3 Coverage, Brightness, Contrast, FreeSync Premium Pro, Speakers, Oh and did I mention Porsche Design. All of these things I just mentioned make this monitor a beast among all other monitors.
