Cougar DarkBlader X5 RGB Mid-Tower Chassis Review

Conclusion and Verdict

In conclusion, the DarkBlader X5 RGB is another case from Cougar where they are including so many fans. They have include a total of 3 with this one and the is the only X5 model where you will get this many included fans. What I like these fans compared to what is pre installed in the 410 mesh, is these have a specific model number. So if you want to add more and be able to have them all match, no problem. These fans are the ARGB VK120 fans. These are very good fans too. The run full speed a 1500RPM and move around 50 CFM of air. So with that kind of airflow you aren’t going to have any problems keeping the inside of this case cool. What’s crazy if you bought these 3 fans separately on Amazon, you would be paying 60 bucks just for the fans. With the built in controller you have the option of having 6 total fans operating off the front panel button RGB functions. The RGB ring on these fans have very good color saturation and effects. I like the amount of space this mid tower has. You really don’t any limitations compared to what you can do with this case. You can fit just as much in this one as you could the larger Full Tower DarkBlader-S.

I was expecting the front panel to have more of a black transparent look but as you can see in the pics, the front panel definitely has a blue tint. Not necessarily a downside but if you look at the pictures of the case online it looks more black than it does in person. So if you are expecting a more black overall look you might be surprised. As you can see in the pictures the fans look pretty cool shinning through the panel.

For a proud hardware geek, the chassis is the focal point of the PC, since it is the largest piece of hardware. The aesthetics of a chassis are important to many system builders and consumers alike. A chassis with sleek lines and a smooth finish are key factors to give your custom PC a specific curb appeal.
