Streacom BC1 V2 ATX Open Benchtable Review

Example Test Build

The main test build includes the latest Intel Alder Lake-S platform with the recently reviewed Biostar Racing B660 GTA and passive Noctua NH-P1 cooler. To save space and reduce weight, in use is FSP 850W SFX PSU. Even though the build with a passive cooler seems large, it’s still quite light and easy to move.

Everything has perfect dimensions to install additional components. Even though the BC1 is designed in the size of an ATX motherboard, we can still install a motherboard in EATX format, and nothing will interfere. Under the motherboard is enough space for cables and airflow.

Below are some additional photos of the ITX setup with installed EK water cooling. Typically in the place of the reservoir with pump is a radiator which we installed on the other side. If you are using AIO water cooling, then probably you will install a radiator next to the CPU because of the limited length of tubes and also so it won’t interfere with the graphics card.

The BC1 provided a solid base that wasn’t causing problems regardless of used hardware during the tests. The thick anodized aluminum looks great and is scratch-proof, so it should present well for a long time. It’s also relatively light, so it’s easy to carry anywhere, and the size is small enough to fit a typical backpack.

Since the BC1 is a product designed for enthusiasts and overclockers, then it’s clear it won’t meet all users’ needs, but it’s convenient if you switch test rigs often or simply test a lot and care about the space. Since it’s an open test bench environment, then we have to think about collecting dust. On the other hand, I highly doubt that anyone will use the BC1 for the same test rig for long months.
