Antec Kuhler H20 1250 CPU Cooler Review

Installation

Installation is the most important factor when choosing the Antec Kuhler 1250. I state this because there are chassis that this cooler will not fit, one of those being my current rig the CM Storm Scout 2. The clearance issues for this particular chassis were the depth of the cooling unit would not fit between the ram modules. The 4.7″ needed for the clearance is important to double check. Antec has compatibility list of chassis but only show Antec chassis that are compatible. All you need to do is measure from the inside of the top where the radiator will mount and measure down to the closest component on the board (could be North bridge heat sink or ram modules on most boards). With that being said even though the unit did not fit I was able simple secure it to the top part of my case as seen in the finished looks.

The instructions provided are very detailed and easy to follow. There are important steps when setting your brackets up for either AMD or Intel. The ears simply slide to the corresponding CPU type and small rubber inserts are placed in to the slot to prevent anything from moving. The steps from that point start to become more familiar as all you do is put your back plate on and apply your preferred thermal paste and tighten the heatsink down.

Finished Look

The RGB LED illuminates your case and changes color to indicate CPU temperature. With the help of The Grid software, you can set the LED lighting to match the color scheme to match your rig. During extensive and high demand gaming, no need to pause or exit, monitoring CPU temperature is made easy with the temperature controlled LED. Take a quick glance and carry on dominating in the game!
