Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L RGB AIO Cooler Review

Main Review

For all of the testing I used an Intel 7600K and ASROCK Z270 ASRock Z270 Killer SLI/ac motherboard mounted inside a A  Cooler Master Masterbox Lite 5. Also for testing I only used included item including using the included fans and included thermal paste.

Installation

For mounting I put the fans on the front of the case with the radiator behind the mounting points. The back plate has the points for screws to go trhough depending on the socket youre mounting it on with a plastic scover that covers all the unneeded holes. The back plate comes through the motherboard and mounts through these holes on the pump.
The only complaint I have with the mounting is that theres nothing to hold the back plate in place until the pump is attavhed wich caused the back plate to constently fall back while trying to mount the pump. I was able to get the pump mounted by holding the back plate in place with one hand and mounting the pump witht the other which worked but felt akward and was difficvult to acomplish.

Overall installation was fairly straight forward, it did suffer from the same issues as most AIO coolers while mounting the radiator since there’s no simple way to hold a fan in place with one hand while trying to mount a radiator behind it but that’s an issue most AIO’s have so I won’t hold that against the ML240l. The one thing I did have an issue with was mounting the back plate most other coolers have some way of holding the back plate in place while you mount the cooler but this one didn’t so you are forced to hold both the back plate and pump in place while mounting the pump, while that isn’t a huge issue it’s one that easily avoided by a few extra screws.

I rate the installation portion 4.5/5

Great price! The specs and test results aren’t bad, either. I have a spare PC, slightly OC’d with a I7 6700K cooled with a Noctua NH-15 that I use for CAD stuff. With a few more positive reviews, I might just pull the trigger and buy one of these and OC a little more. Fun project, anyway, without breaking the bank and/or catching my wife’s attention.
