Cooler Master ML240R AIO Liquid Cooler Review

Looks

While looks may be highly subjective it’s hard to argue just how great this cooler looks.

The lighting on this cooler looks super slick especially on the pump, I like how the lights never become overpowering but they provide a really nice glow to help tie the overall look of your PC together. The lighting animations also look amazing and super smooth everything looks and feels great and the ML240R will look great in both a flashing full on RGB build or a more subdued single color lighting build.

Even the non-lit parts of this AIO look really good. The radiator is a matt black metal which looks unassuming but still looks great. The tubing also looks great, it’s covered in a fabric mesh cover so the tubing looks and feels extremely premium.

Overall I rate the looks portion of the ML240R 5/5 for looking amazing both in the areas with lights and the areas without them.

Build Quality

The build quality on the ML240R is pretty amazing. The fans feel solid and each blade is made out of a thick plastic I highly doubt you’d ever have an issue with the fans breaking.

The radiator also feels extremely durable, being made entirely out of metal the edges are thick enough to eliminate any chance of bending and they also protect the fins if you happen to drop the AIO during installation. The fins are also really well made they are still thin enough to let air flow through the radiator but the fins are durable enough to resist bending and breaking should you accidentally hit them with a screw.

The pump feels equally as premium too, even though the entire pump housing is made of plastic it is very thick and durable plastic so you shouldn’t have any issues with the pump housing breaking any time soon.

And lastly, the tubes feel right at home on this cooler, being covered in a premium feeling woven fabric with multiple layers beneath. All of this combined leads to a tube that is thick enough to resist kinking and damage while also remaining flexible enough to fit it in a large variety of cases.

Overall the build quality gets a 5/5. I honestly have no complaints with the build quality, this AIO should last you for years.

Noise

I was extremely pleased with how quiet the ML240R is. Below are audio recordings of the two included fans and pump in operation, I even turned the fans to their max speed and the pump to performance mode so you could make the operation even quieter if you wanted.

The audio below was recorded with my microphone directly outside of the side panel. Using measurement software I recorded a max volume of 15DB with the side panel on.

Below I recorded the ML240R with both the side panel and front panel off and it still operated fairly quietly. The max volume recorded was 22DB

As you can hear from the audio above this AIO is pretty quiet considering the 2 fans running at max speed. I was never able to hear the sound of this AIO while gaming and it was never intrusively loud even with no other audio to block it out.

I rate the noise level of the ML240R 5/5 for being super quiet during operation, you’ll never have any issues hearing game audio over this cooler.
