CRYORIG A80 AIO Water Cooling Kit Review

Specifications and Features

A80 specs1

CRYORIG A80 is compatible with all modern Intel and AMD desktop processors except maybe low power motherboards with integrated processors and AMD AM1 socket.

Looking at the specification we can see that A80 has really fast fans and aluminum radiator designed to deliver top performance. I won’t hide that I’m a bit worried about the generated noise by the fans. I like my PC to run quiet and the same as many other users I pick water cooling mainly because of quiet work. Of course we will check that later.

On the below picture you can see the pump which is designed by Asetek. It’s actually their higher series pump which should provide high performance. There is also additional small, 70mm fan which you can install on the pump and which is removing hot air from around the CPU socket. It’s also cooling power section what can be important after overclocking.

Simply everything in A80 is designed to provide high performance.

A80 specs2

A80 has arrived in a retail box which looks pretty good. Box is black and has about all you need to know about the cooling which is inside. There is full specification, additional information, product name, contact to manufacturer and main features. There is also a picture showing what is giving HLC airflow fan.

Cooling is well protected and is delivered in couple of parts. Thankfully there are not so many parts so installation is quite easy and quick. All is well described in the attached manual. Except manual and cooling itself there is one more important thing worth to mention – warranty card. Registering your brand new cooling you can receive additional three year warranty what in total gives six year warranty. It’s hard to find longer warranty on the market. It simply proves that CRYORIG trusts quality of their products.

All 140mm fans have rubber pads on both sides what should reduce any vibrations. I will only add that even without the pads I haven’t noticed any vibrations. 140mm fans can work between 600 and 1850 rpm. It’s quite wide range. Also maximum speed of 1850 rpm is quite unusual. Most 140mm fans available on the market have maximum speed of 1000-1200 rpm. This of course affects performance but also generated noise.

HLC airflow fan spins faster and its range is between 1500 and 3000 rpm. We can install it as push or pull depending what are our needs.

Below you can see photos of the pump and HLC airflow fan installed on the pump. Base is made of copper and is well polished. It comes with applied TIM like you see on the photos.

Pump is redesigned and improved version of Asetek gen. 5. It should generate similar level of noise even though performs better.

As you can also see on the photos, CRYORIG used SATA power cable for the pump and additional fan headers while there is still PWM connector to control speed. To set it right you have to adjust fan settings in motherboard’s BIOS.

As I mentioned earler, radiator is made of aluminum what is rather hard to find in popular AIO coolers. It’s painted black what is quite popular and also fits most computers. Radiator is 27.5mm thick so is rather thin considering overall size but large surface should help in faster removing the heat.

At the end couple of photos with fans installed. I will add that fans are high pressure so are especially designed to work with radiators. They also look pretty solid.
