Raijintek ORCUS 140 RBW AIO Cooler Review

Package and its Contents

The Orcus RBW cooler arrived in a retail package that is quite a large box but also typical for AIO coolers. As we can see, this package is shared with the version equipped with a 280mm radiator. However, I asked Raijintek for the 140mm version as this size radiator is really rare, while many users may find it just perfect for their exceptional PC.

We will find everything we may need for the installation in the package and even more as there is even a bottle with coolant. The cooler supports all popular sockets, but I won’t hide that the mounting kit is much better for the Raijintek EOS series. The brackets for the Orcus are quite large what makes it impossible to install the cooler on some ITX size motherboards or motherboards, which a backplates/heatsinks on the back of the PCB. As an effect, tests were planned with ASUS Crosshair VIII Impact, but the cooler couldn’t fit, so we used MSI X570 Unify. The same issue was with Enermax AIO coolers tested in the last months.

The used fan is very quiet. In tests, it was spinning at about 1000RPM for most of the time while under the maximum CPU load, it could reach about 1500RPM. The software was reporting about 5400RPM for the pump, which was also very quiet during tests. The pump itself is quite interesting as it’s external and has a small size. It’s rated at 86 L/H, so not much but still enough for this type of cooler.

The CPU block has a built-in tank with a coolant flow indicator. It shows if the water flows and if the tank is full of coolant. Simple and functional.

The water block with a built-in pump is similar to what we could see in the AQUAFUSION series. The main difference makes the top design. We won’t find here fancy mirror effect but what we get looks pretty good, especially in the dark.

The base is made of copper and has the same focused flow technology as the AQUAFUSION series so that we can expect similar performance.

Installation

The installation is simple, and everything is well described in the manual. ARGB illumination works excellent and can be synchronized with other devices. There was no problem managing it via included controller or MSI motherboard software.

The above photos are showing how exceptional the cooler looks. LEDs are bright and give live colors.

On the next page of this review, we will take a closer look at the performance.
