Dell Latitude E7370 Ultrabook Review

Verdict and Conclusion

The overall performance of the Dell Latitude E7370 Ultrabook is pretty decent, but lower than that of the E7270. However, having said that, I think the performance is more than OK for me. You have to remember, the E7370 is really designed and aimed at the business user who travels a lot, and thus require a light-weight laptop that needs to have a long battery life. That’s why it uses Intel’s latest generation of Core M5 (Skylake – 14nm) processor running at super energy efficient 1.1GHz. According to Dell, the E7370 can last up to 10 hours of continuous use! In our tests, we actually got around 6-7 hours usage, which is pretty good from a 4-cell 45W li-ion (4,300 mAh) battery. It’s good enough.

Although the CPU and graphics department is a little below par compared to a Core i5 processor, the speed of the onboard 8GB DDR3-1600MHz ram and 256Gb SSD storage (PCI Express) more than make up for it.

When it comes to size and weight … Dell is most certainly right to say it’s the world’s smallest 13-inch business-class laptop. The Latitude E7370 Ultrabook is just as slim as their very own XPS13, measuring only … Height: 14.32 mm (0.56″) x Width: 304.8 mm (12″) x Depth: 210.5 mm (8.3″), and weighing it at only 1.12 kg (2.47 lbs).

The large 13.3″ FHD (1920 x 1080), Non-Touch Infinity Anti Glare (16:9) WLED screen is a pleasure to use. The colors are crisp and the brightness is just right. If this isn’t enough, you can also get the same model with the option of a 13.3″ QHD+ (3200 x 1800) Touch Infinity Anti Glare ETE with Corning® Gorilla® Glass.

With a starting cost of around USD $1,299 upwards for the Core M5 model, the Dell Latitude E7370 Ultrabook is pretty expensive. Yes, it is a very attractive and slim ultrabook, and there is no doubt in my mind that it’s perfect for the business user … but not so for the average consumer (general public). Final words:

I can truly say … Well done to Dell for offering a wide range and selection of ultrabooks, more than any other manufacturer that I know of. We now have the XPS13 series, the Latitude 12 – 7000 series, and now the New Latitude 13 – 7000 series. Each model is as good as the next.

If you’re business user, who needs a light-weight laptop that’s packed with business class features, then  Dell Latitude E7370 is for you. Powered by a super energy efficient Core M5 process, you get really good battery life of around 6-7 hours usage, which I think is more than enough. The speed of the 256GB SSD drive is quite impressive with boot up time typically less than 30 secs, this is all thanks to the PCI Express interface. Additionally, you also get features such as a fingerprint reader, cellular SIM card slot, Smart Card reader, as well as a NFC card reader.
