Antec Katana 7-Series DDR4-3600 16GB Memory Kit Review

We’ve been given the task to build an Antec-themed PC project using, yes you’ve guessed it Antec PC components. So today, I thought it would be good to take a look at the Antec Katana 7-Series DDR4-3600 16GB memory kit, which we’ll be using in our up-coming PC project. These memory modules are rated to run at a maximum speed of DDR4-3600 at 1.35V, with a CAS latency of 18-20-20-44. It supports both XMP 2.0 profiles, as well as dual channel mode. The modules comes with a distinctive aluminum heatsink that’s made from refined black steel and finished by using CNC machining process to give it a unique surface texture.

The memory modules also comes with a blade-shaped silver lighting bar on top, that shows its metallic shine when the ARGB Lighting is switched off. Nice!

Antec’s Katana 7-Series memory kits provides extensive freedom of customization, with access to a vast array of modes and ARGB functions via motherboard synchronization. These include the support for Asus Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, ASRock Polychrome Sync and more.

I would like to thank Antec for providing this review sample! Let us see what Antec has to say about themselves on their website:

We’ll be testing the Antec Katana 7-Series DDR4-3600 16GB memory kits on our test rig, which is comprised of an ASRock Z490 Steel Legend motherboard, along with an Intel Core i9-10900K and a Zotac GeForce GTX 2080 AMP Extreme Core (8GB GDDR6) graphics card.

With Intel’s excellent built-in memory controller on their 10th Gen processors and paired with a Z490 chipset motherboard, I’m expecting some good results in our benchmarks.

We’ve already reviewed the DDR4-3200 version, so I interested to see if the the increase in speed to DDR4-3600 can really make a difference or not. Let’s find out.

OK, let’s dive straight in and start by looking at the specifications and feature on the next page.

You can buy the Antec Katana 7-Series DDR4-3600 16GB Memory Kit for around USD $84.99 from Amazon – https://amzn.to/3W3ZoL5
