I don’t know if you’ve noticed that already but this is one of the most interesting things about the Fury memory series. SPD/JEDEC profile is the same as XMP so you don’t have to do anything, simply install the memory and run PC. As long as chipset supports higher memory frequency then it will run at declared speed without even enabling XMP in BIOS.

 

Above is a screenshot from Thaiphoon Burner software. We can see Micron E-die on the list which is new IC which has no problems to run on AMD and Intel motherboards. It’s also probably the first Micron IC which is used in higher frequency memory kits. I can already tell you it overclocks high. Maybe not at really tight timings but results are good.

 

Package and its Contents

The Fury memory kit arrived in a retail package which is a box, typical for more memory modules.

Inside we can find a short manual and a sticker with HyperX logo. Also nothing unusual as we are used seeing about the same contents added to all HyperX memory kits. RAM is so easy for installation that most brands are not even adding the user’s manual. It also doesn’t require any tools for installation.

Memory modules are equipped with whole white heatsinks. Barely any brand is selling whole white RAM so modders should be interested in the Fury series. The heatsinks are also asymmetric.

There are no LEDs or any additional flashy elements, maybe except HyperX sign which is silver and is reflecting light pretty good.

HyperX Fury is proving that memory doesn’t need LED lighting to look good.

For most users performance is more important than the heatsink design so let’s move to the next page to take a look at the results in various tests.
